Cookie policy

1. In brief

The acmelaser.ro website does not use first-party cookies and does not use advertising tools. To measure visits we use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not set cookies (see §3). The items we store in your browser are strictly necessary for the website to function, so under Article 4(6) of Romanian Law 506/2004 they do not require consent. The only exception is the Google map on the Contact page, which may set Google cookies; we explain below how you can block it.

Below we explain exactly what we use, what we do not use and how you can control each item.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser to remember something between visits. Similar technologies, such as sessionStorage, retain information only while you keep the browser tab open and are deleted automatically when you close it. Neither cookies nor these technologies can access the files on your device.

Fonts. The website’s fonts are hosted on our own servers; no request is sent to Google for them.

Visitor statistics. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, the analytics service provided by our hosting provider. It does not use cookies and does not store anything in your browser; we only see aggregate figures (number of visits, pages viewed, country, device type and the site you came from). Within a single day, a visitor is recognised by an identifier calculated from the request data; the identifier is deleted automatically after 24 hours. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Google map. On the Contact page we show a Google map of the Cluj-Napoca area. When you open the page, your browser loads the map from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and may set their own cookies, as described in Google’s privacy policy. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in showing where a machine can be seen in operation (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you do not want these cookies, you can block them in your browser (see §7) — the rest of the website will work as normal.

4. What we do NOT use

• Google Analytics or other analytics tools that use cookies
• Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or other advertising and remarketing tools
• Social media buttons with tracking (the links to our pages are plain links)
• Embedded YouTube videos (the videos on the website are hosted by us)

If we ever introduce such a tool, this page will be updated beforehand and, where required by law, we will ask for your consent through a consent banner.

5. The contact form

The form on the Contact page does not use cookies. The data you enter (name, company, email, phone, machine of interest, technical details, message) are sent to office@acmelaser.ro and to our internal record of enquiries, so that we can reply to you. We process them at your request, in order to take steps before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and keep them for 3 years from the last interaction, in accordance with the Privacy policy, which also sets out your rights.

To protect against automated submissions, the server keeps the sender’s IP address in memory only, for no more than one hour, and does not save it.

6. Hosting

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). As with any web host, Vercel keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, time) to operate and secure the website, for no more than 12 months. These data are transferred to the USA on the basis of Vercel’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Your choices

• Display theme: resets automatically when you close the tab; you can change it at any time with the sun/moon button.
• Google map: the cookies set by the map can be blocked or deleted in your browser settings (see below); blocking them does not affect the rest of the website.
• In your browser: you can block or delete cookies in the settings (Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies; Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security; Safari: Preferences → Privacy; Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions). Blocking them does not affect how our website works.

8. Updates

We update this page whenever we change how the website works. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
