The FLW-T Series is the laser welding machine on wheels for use on the shop floor and on site, wherever the part cannot be dismantled. It welds, cuts, cleans surfaces and cleans welds at 1,000–3,000 W, and an operator with no welding experience can start work within a few hours.
Welding, cutting, cleaning and weld cleaning on the same equipment, with no change of machine between operations. Suited to high-mix, small-batch production.
02
Compact and easy to move
Small and light, it stands on wheels and needs no fixed workstation: it can be taken onto the shop floor, out on site or right up to a part that cannot be dismantled. It works quickly, with little labour and low operating costs.
03
Automated and easy to learn
An operator with no welding experience can start work within a few hours. The control system interface is available in 19 languages; the system displays faults in real time and raises the alarm automatically.
04
Handles the common metals
Works on stainless steel, mild steel, galvanised sheet and aluminium.
Key capabilities
The FLW-T Series difference
A single workstation
The part no longer moves from one workstation to another or queues for the next machine: it is finished where it started, with no change of equipment between operations.
FLW-T Series
ACME footage of the actual machine: welding 3 mm stainless steel, cutting 1 mm stainless steel, weld cleaning and surface cleaning on a profile — plus changing heads and nozzles between operations.
Technology
Inside the FLW-T Series
01 / 04
Welding head
Heat input is concentrated in a small area, so the part does not distort. It welds 3–10 times faster than TIG, with deeper weld penetration. The weld is flat and clean, free of porosity, and in most cases needs no post-weld finishing. The focal spot is small, positioning is precise and the process lends itself to automation.
02 / 04
Cleaning head
Takes F400, F600 and F800 focusing lenses — choose between a large area per pass and high energy density. The air path is specially designed: fewer consumables are used and the machine cleans consistently for hours on end. The new optical path delivers the beam in a straight line rather than an arc, so no corners are missed.
03 / 04
Cutting head
Works best on thicknesses up to 3 mm. The cut edge is smooth and burr-free. Cutting is fast and safe, easy to learn and keeps labour costs down. The head is compact, easy to handle and cuts efficiently.
04 / 04
Weld cleaning head
Quickly removes slag, oxide scale, traces of porosity and flux residue from the weld bead. It cleans evenly along the whole weld, so the result no longer depends on the operator's skill. The head is small, cleans efficiently over a small area, has minimal effect on the base metal and withstands continuous operation.
In operation
Easy to commission
Automatic wire feeder
4-roller mechanism with dual drive. The wire speed is adjustable between 25 and 600 cm/min, in continuous or pulse mode.
Continuous welding, spot welding, cutting, cleaning, weld cleaning, automatic welding and password access. Presets are saved in a library and recalled for the next job, and the wire speed can be changed directly from the main screen. The interface is available in 19 languages.
Focusing lens, collimator and protective lens, all made of quartz crystal with a double-layer anti-reflective coating. They withstand high temperatures and radiation, and are suitable for 1,000–3,000 W.
When the part cannot be dismantled, the machine comes to it. The FLW-T stands on wheels, weighs 150 kg (250 kg for the 3 kW version) and is water-cooled; it can be taken onto the shop floor or out on site.
With the same equipment you weld 0.5–10 mm mild steel, cut (best up to 3 mm), clean over an adjustable width of 5 to 100 mm and clean welds. The working head is changed in about a minute, according to the manufacturer, so all four operations are done at the same workstation.
Copper, brass and special alloys are not on the manufacturer’s list; if you work with them, we check with the manufacturer before you order.
FAQ
Questions about the FLW-T Series
What thicknesses does the FLW-T Series cover in each of its four operations?
In welding, the FLW-T Series achieves 0.5 to 10 mm penetration on mild steel. In cutting, it works best on thicknesses up to 3 mm, and on 1 mm mild steel it cuts at 50–200 mm/s. Cleaning is done over an adjustable width of 5 to 100 mm, with a scanning distance of 0.05 to 1 mm. Weld cleaning has a separate head and works on the weld bead, removing slag, oxide scale and flux residue.
How do I choose between 1 kW and 3 kW on the FLW-T Series?
On the FLW-T Series, the power is chosen between 1,000 and 3,000 W, and the choice changes the machine itself, not just the laser source. The 3 kW version measures 1,145×556×1,075 mm and weighs 250 kg without accessories; the rest of the range measures 1,045×456×975 mm and weighs 150 kg. If the machine is going to move often between workstations or go out on site, size and weight matter as much as power.
What does the FLW-T Series need for commissioning?
The FLW-T Series does not need a fixed workstation: it is water-cooled, stands on its own wheels and is moved by hand, without a crane. The wire unwinds from the spool inside the housing, and the automatic wire feeder delivers it at 25–600 cm/min. Commissioning and operator training are carried out by our own technicians in Romania.
What warranty does the FLW-T Series come with?
The FLW-T Series comes with a 24-month manufacturer's warranty, like all the ACME machines we supply. During this period, service work is carried out by our own service team in Romania, using genuine parts. We keep nozzles, lenses and other critical components in stock in Romania, so spare parts arrive in days, not weeks.
How long does the FLW-T Series take to switch from one operation to another?
The switch takes as long as changing the working head, which the manufacturer puts at about one minute; for cleaning, the nozzle is changed as well. The working mode is then selected on the FLW-T Series screen, where presets saved in the library can be recalled directly. The video on this page also shows heads and nozzles being changed between operations.
Does the FLW-T Series also work on copper, brass or special alloys?
They are not on the manufacturer's list. ACME does not include copper, brass or special alloys among the declared materials for the FLW-T Series, so we do not promise them. For such parts, the check is made before ordering: you tell us the material and thickness, we ask the manufacturer and give you a written answer.
Tell us what you need to weld — the material and thickness, the joint type (butt, corner, lap), how many hours a day the machine will run and whether it stays at a fixed workstation or moves around the shop floor. We will reply in writing with the right configuration: power, working heads and wire feed.
