The A Series is ACME's high-speed machine for small tubes, built for fabricators who cut Ø8–180 mm tube and need short cycle times. It comes in 3 models for round, square, rectangular or oval tube, in 6 m lengths, with a chuck speed of up to 200 rpm, 1–6 kW of laser power and EtherCAT control.
Cuts round, square, rectangular or oval tube in 6 m lengths, at high speed: Ø8–120 mm on the 6012A and 6012AB, Ø10–180 mm on the 6018A.
02
Fast chuck, up to 200 rpm
On square or rectangular tube, the chuck turns the part at every corner, and its speed sets the cycle time: at 200 rpm, the idle time between cuts drops. Every component of the ACME chuck has its own identification number, so there are no mix-ups in maintenance or when ordering spare parts.
03
EtherCAT control
The control system and the servo drives communicate over EtherCAT: the machine responds quickly to commands, and the servo motors can be monitored in real time.
04
Free technical support
ACME updates the system and the nesting software free of charge, provides ongoing online technical guidance, helps with drawing complex parts and supplies video operating guides. You lose fewer hours to downtime.
05
2-year warranty
A 2-year manufacturer's warranty from ACME, as standard.
Key capabilities
The A Series difference
High-speed chuck
Up to 200 rpm: the tube turns quickly between cuts, whatever its shape.
Clamping on all sides
The jaws clamp the tube directly under the cutting head; the same chuck holds both round and square sections.
ACME-designed chuck
The chuck is designed by ACME. Every component has its own identification number, so exactly the right spare part can be ordered.
Technology
Inside the A Series
01 / 03
Gantry structure
The gantry rests on both rails and keeps the machine balanced as it moves, so cutting stays stable and accurate even at high travel speeds.
02 / 03
Adjustable support rollers
The rollers rise automatically and adjust to the tube diameter, so the tube stays supported throughout the cut, with no manual adjustment between batches. The roller frame, the cylinders and the gear rack are standardised modules, which keeps the design compact and maintenance simple.
03 / 03
Semi-automatic loader
A compact loader, available as an option. With it, one person can supervise multiple machines, and less labour is needed for the same production volume.

EtherCAT control system
The control system and the servo drives run on EtherCAT: the machine responds quickly to commands, and the servo motors are monitored in real time.
Updates for the system and the nesting software, online technical guidance, help with complex drawings and video operating guides, ongoing and free of charge. When needed, we liaise with ACME on your behalf.

Technical data
Official ACME specifications — 3 models. The letter “B” in the model code means the machine comes with a semi-automatic loader — the 6012A and 6012AB are the same machine and differ only in how they are loaded.

Specifications are subject to change as the manufacturer develops its machines. We confirm the exact values for your configuration in your quotation.
The A Series cuts small tube from 6 m lengths. Only the 6012A and 6012AB reach 200 rpm (Ø8–120 mm), a speed that shortens the cycle on square or rectangular tube. On the 6018A, the diameter goes up to Ø180 mm, but the chuck only reaches 120 rpm.
For tubes up to 300 kg, or for dusty, slag-heavy conditions, the D Series cuts the same diameters with a sealed chuck. In the same Ø8–180 mm range, the 6012TFKA and 6018TFKA from the TF Series leave a shorter remnant.
FAQ
Questions about the A Series
What tube diameters does the A Series cut?
The A Series covers diameters from Ø8 to Ø180 mm. The 6012A and 6012AB take tube from Ø8 up to Ø120 mm, while the 6018A works between Ø10 and Ø180 mm. The section can be round, square, rectangular or oval, and the minimum remnant is 65 mm on all three models.
What tube length can the A Series cut?
All A Series machines work with 6 m tube. The cutting length reaches 6,300 mm on all three models, and finished parts up to 6,000 mm long can be unloaded. For 9 or 12 m tube, the right options are in the G Series and TF Series; for 15 m, the TN Series.
What laser power and footprint does the A Series have?
All three A Series models (6012A, 6012AB and 6018A) work with a 1–6 kW laser source. The overall dimensions are the same across the range: 10,691×2,570×1,900 mm (length × width × height). The right power and configuration are chosen according to the material, thicknesses, typical diameters and monthly production volume.
How long does it take to install an A Series machine?
According to ACME, an A Series machine is operational 2 days after installation and goes into production after 3 days, once the operators have been trained. Installation is carried out by our own technicians in Romania, so you do not depend on a team coming from abroad. The manufacturer's video operating guides remain available to operators after start-up.
What warranty does the A Series come with?
Every A Series machine comes as standard with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty from ACME. Consumables (nozzles, protective lenses and ceramic rings) are not covered by the warranty. Commissioning, maintenance and repairs are carried out by our own technicians, and nozzles, lenses and critical components are kept in stock in Romania.
What control system does the A Series use?
The A Series has EtherCAT control on all three models. Over EtherCAT, the machine reacts quickly to commands and the operator can follow the status of the servo motors in real time. Updates for the system and the nesting software come from the manufacturer free of charge, on an ongoing basis.
How fast does the A Series chuck rotate?
The A Series chuck reaches 200 rpm on the 6012A and 6012AB and 120 rpm on the 6018A, the model for larger diameters. Rotation speed matters on square and rectangular tube, where the part turns at every corner and the rotation time is added to every cycle. That is why, on this kind of tube, the 6012A and 6012AB have shorter cycles than the 6018A.
