For manufacturers who cut or weld tube, profiles and sheet: the typical parts and the recommended ACME machines in each of the 8 industries. The same processes recur from one industry to the next, in construction, renewable energy, shipbuilding, furniture or structural steelwork; what changes is the material and the thickness.
Construction machinery manufacturers (excavators, loaders, cranes, bulldozers) work with thick plate and structural profiles for chassis, booms, buckets and counterweights. ACME machines cut plate up to 100 mm thick, as well as large profiles and tubes with a weld-prep bevel.

On manually fabricated subassemblies, the handheld laser welder is 3–10 times faster than TIG.
Mounting structures for photovoltaic panels, wind turbine components and enclosures for energy storage equipment call for precise cutting of profiles, tube and sheet. ACME machines cut the mounting profiles, rails and enclosures in series production, with every part identical.
Shipyards work with thick steel plate and profiles for the hull, decks and bulkheads. ACME's large-format machines (floor-rail gantry, up to 24 m long) cut plate up to 100 mm thick and parts with V/Y/X/K bevels for weld preparation.
Manufacturers of metal furniture and home appliances cut thin sheet and light profiles for frames, panels and housings: tables, shelving, metal cabinets, household appliances. Precise cuts and clean edges reduce finishing work after cutting.
Manufacturers of building materials and components (metal doors and windows, facade systems, sheet-metal roofing and guttering) cut sheet and profiles to a wide range of sizes and shapes, in high volumes and repeat runs. Nesting software and fast table change let different batches run back to back.
Sheet metal fabricators working in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass or copper need a machine that copes with varied orders, from one-off parts to small and medium batches. ACME sheet cutting machines cut plate up to 100 mm thick, depending on the material and the power of the laser source.

Manufacturers of steel structures (industrial buildings, overhead cranes, load-bearing structures) cut H-beams, I-beams, channels and large-diameter tube, plus sheet for gussets and base plates. Edges come off the machine already bevelled for welding, with no separate operation.
Metalwork for civil and industrial construction (frames, stairs, balustrades, load-bearing elements) calls for accurate dimensions and clean edges for welding or mechanical assembly. ACME's combined cutting models cut both tube and sheet on the same machine.
ACME sheet cutting machines cut plate up to 100 mm thick: the S Series and D Series (sheet), with 1–60 kW laser sources, and the LP Series, with 6–60 kW, for large formats. The maximum thickness depends on the material and the power of the laser source. Formats range from 3,000×1,500 mm to 24,000×3,000 mm.
Which ACME machines cut both sheet and tube or profiles?
Three ACME series do both jobs on the same machine. The ST Series and DT Series cut sheet and tube: the ST takes sheet up to 6,000×2,500 mm and tube Ø8–250 mm, and the DT takes sheet up to 12,000×2,500 mm and tube Ø8–280 mm. The LHM Series cuts plate and profiles; profiles (H-beams, I-beams, channels and angles) go up to 1,200×600 mm. Parts no longer have to be moved from one machine to another.
Which industries use ACME laser machines?
ACME machines are not tied to a single industry: they cut tube, profiles and sheet wherever metal is processed. ACME Laser Romania recommends them for eight industries: construction machinery, renewable energy, shipbuilding, furniture and home appliances, building materials, sheet metal fabrication, structural steelwork and metal fabrication. If you work with tube, profiles or sheet metal in another field, there is probably a configuration that suits you too.
Can I see an ACME machine in operation before I buy?
Yes, with a demo on a real machine in our own production facility in Cluj-Napoca. Two ACME machines run there: an LT-12055TKA from the T Series, for large tubes and profiles, and an LHM Series machine, for profiles and plate. You can see how the machines cut, how the material is loaded and how they are operated from the control panel, before choosing the right configuration for your production.
What does delivery of an ACME machine in Romania include?
Transport, customs clearance, insurance, acceptance inspection, installation and operator training are included. Our team brings the machine to your premises and commissions it, and your operators are trained on the installed machine. All ACME machines come with a 24-month warranty, and service is carried out by our own technicians. The exact terms for your model and configuration are set out in your written quotation.
How do I choose the right ACME machine for my industry?
You choose the machine according to the material you cut. Small tube is cut on the A, D, E or TF Series, large tube and profiles on the T, G or TN Series, sheet on the S, D or LP Series, and sheet together with tube or profiles on the ST, DT or LHM Series. For welding there is the FLW-T handheld laser welder. Then thickness and monthly volume determine the power of the laser source and the machine format.
Is your industry not listed?
ACME machines are not tied to a single industry. If you work with tube, profiles or sheet metal, there is probably a configuration that suits you too. Tell us your material, thickness and monthly volume, and we will recommend the right machine.
