The nozzle is the consumable part at the tip of the cutting head on laser cutting machines: the beam passes through it, and the cutting gas comes out concentrated on the cut. As the most exposed part of the head, it wears and is replaced periodically. It has one gas channel or two, and a genuine nozzle keeps the orifice centred and maintains the cut edge quality.
The laser beam passes through the central orifice of the nozzle, and the nozzle concentrates the cutting gas right onto the cut.
Mounted at the tip of the head, closest to the part being cut, it is also the first part of the head to wear.
One channel or two channels
The internal design differs from one nozzle to another: some have a single gas channel, from the thread to the outlet orifice; others have two concentric channels, one inside the other.
The right version depends on the machine and the application, so we agree on it with you before you order.
Why a genuine nozzle matters
The nozzle orifice must be concentric with the beam, that is, centred exactly on its axis. An off-centre or worn nozzle spoils the symmetry of the gas jet and, with it, the cut edge quality.
That is why we recommend genuine parts, confirmed for your cutting head, not unverified equivalents.
Why buy through a dealer
Before delivery, we check the cutting head model with you, so that the nozzle you receive fits.
As the authorised ACME dealer in Romania, we keep genuine nozzles in stock and help you choose the right version.
FAQ
Questions about the Nozzles
How do I find out which nozzle fits my cutting head?
We identify the nozzle by its body and thread, so the nozzle you are using now helps us most: send it to us, or a photo of it. If you no longer have the old nozzle, we identify it from the cutting head model. Whether you need the single- or double-channel version then depends on the machine and the application.
Why does the cutting nozzle wear out so quickly?
The nozzle wears quickly because it is the most exposed part of the cutting head: it sits closest to the part being cut, collides with it and gets fouled with slag. A worn nozzle spoils the symmetry of the gas jet and the cut edge quality, so frequent replacement is normal for a consumable. That is exactly why we keep it in stock.
Can I fit an equivalent nozzle instead of the genuine one?
It can be fitted, but the result is not guaranteed. A nozzle that is not made for that head may sit slightly off-centre relative to the beam, and the deviation shows immediately in the cut: the gas jet loses its symmetry and the edge quality drops.
Tell us the model of the cutting head fitted to your machine — we confirm the right nozzle version before delivery and send availability and price in writing.
