LP Series— Laser plate cutter with a floor-rail gantry
The LP Series is a laser plate cutting machine with a floor-rail gantry, for fabricators who process thick, large-format plate. It takes the place of plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machines. It cuts thicknesses up to 100 mm, on formats from 12 m to 24 m, with 6–60 kW of power. The work table is separate from the machine bed, and the machine stands up to harsh conditions.
Cuts plate up to 100 mm thick, on lengths from 12 metres upwards, as long as the part requires. The initial investment is high, but the machine has a long service life and pays for itself over time. At these thicknesses, it takes the place of plasma and oxy-fuel cutting.

Power from 6 to 60 kW
The laser source is chosen when ordering, between 6 and 60 kW, according to the material and thicknesses you cut. High-power sources have high electro-optical efficiency: less energy is lost as heat, so the electricity bill is lower than you would expect at these power levels.
03
Air cutting
It can cut with compressed air, without oxygen or nitrogen, so there is less to pay per metre cut.
04
A, V, Y, X, K bevels
Cuts the usual A, V, Y, X and K bevels, plus special shapes such as intersection bevels. The weld preparation comes straight off the machine finished.
05
No secondary processing
High cutting speed, a narrow kerf, a smooth surface and no dross: the part comes out finished in a single pass. Sawing, drilling and deburring are no longer needed afterwards, and the fabricator needs fewer machines to buy and maintain.
Key capabilities
The LP Series difference
Weld-ready bevels
Cuts V, Y, X and K bevels. The joint comes out ready for assembly or welding, with no further machining: you lose less time and the cost per part goes down.
Active anti-collision protection
A fast-response capacitive sensor detects raised or tilted parts on the table on the fly, and the head steers around the obstacle before hitting it. The collision is avoided and cutting continues without stopping.
Fast piercing on the fly
Piercing, with rapid frequency switching, is synchronised with the movement of the head. The machine no longer stands still at the start of each contour.

Technology
Inside the LP Series
01 / 03
Modular bed
The bed is built from modules: it starts at 12 m and is extended to order, as long as the part requires. It takes very large formats, and the construction is safe and lasts for years.
02 / 03
Sits on the existing foundation
The foundation of the floor-level rail track is compatible with that of the flame (oxy-fuel) cutting machine it replaces. No new foundation has to be poured, and installation takes less time.
03 / 03
Table separate from the bed
The work table and the machine bed are separate structures. The machine runs stably, withstands harsh workshop conditions and has a long service life.

Tekla-compatible
The machine is compatible with Tekla 3D modelling files: the contours and bevels of parts designed in Tekla do not have to be redrawn for cutting.
When the light curtain detects an object in the protected zone of the gantry, it immediately triggers an emergency stop. This protects both people and the machine.
A 24-metre, 56-tonne plate fits on no other machine in the range. The LP Series takes it on a work table separate from the machine bed, with the gantry on floor rails. The rail track fits over the foundation already poured for the flame (oxy-fuel) cutting machine it replaces.
A, V, Y, X and K bevels are cut together with the contour, and compressed air can be used for cutting instead of oxygen or nitrogen.
The S and D Series cover formats up to 12 m and reach the same thickness, but they move faster: 132 m/min and 1.5 G, compared with 80 m/min and 0.3 G on the LP Series.
FAQ
Questions about the LP Series
What plate thickness does the LP Series cut?
The LP Series cuts plate up to 100 mm thick, whatever the configuration. The source power is chosen when ordering, between 6 and 60 kW, depending on the material and the thickness you cut most often. Not every fabricator needs the top of the range.
What configurations and plate formats does the LP Series offer?
The LP Series has three standard configurations: the 12025S has a 12,000×2,500 mm cutting area, the 14025S 14,000×2,500 mm and the 24030S 24,000×3,000 mm. All three have the same available power, 6–60 kW, the same positioning speed, 80 m/min, and the same maximum acceleration, 0.3 G. They differ in plate format, table load and the floor space they take up.
Can the LP Series be ordered with a longer or wider bed than the standard versions?
The LP Series bed can be extended to order: it is built from modules, starts at 12 m and grows as long as the part requires. For this series, the manufacturer states working widths between 2 and 3.5 m. The three configurations in the table, with widths of 2,500 and 3,000 mm, are the manufacturer's standard versions.
What load does the LP Series work table carry?
The LP Series work table carries 28,000 kg on the 12025S, 32,600 kg on the 14025S and 56,000 kg on the 24030S. The load increases with the plate format: 12,000×2,500 mm, 14,000×2,500 mm and 24,000×3,000 mm respectively. The table is designed for thick, large-format plate up to 100 mm. The work table is a separate structure from the machine bed.
How much floor space does the LP Series take up?
The LP Series requires 15,000×9,000×2,100 mm for the 12025S, 19,000×9,000×2,100 mm for the 14025S and 27,000×9,000×2,100 mm for the 24030S (length × width × height). Width and height are the same on all three; only the length increases. The figures include the floor-level rail track, and you need to add manoeuvring space for loading and unloading the plate.
Why choose the LP Series over plasma or oxy-fuel for thick plate?
With the LP Series, the difference shows at the edge: a laser-cut part goes straight to the next operation as it comes off the machine, whereas after plasma or oxy-fuel there is usually another machining step. The initial investment is higher, but it is recovered through the operations removed from the process and the long service life of the machine. On top of that, the weld-prep bevel is cut together with the contour.
Tell us about your requirements — the material, the maximum thickness, the plate format (12 m, 14 m or 24 m), the bevel type you need (A, V, Y, X, K or special) and your monthly volume. The source power (6–60 kW) and the bed length are agreed with the manufacturer.
